Friends of Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent Archive Service

The Friends of Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent Archive Service (FoSSA) were formed to bring together the many different users of the Archive Service and to support its work. Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent are home to world-famous industries, elegant country houses and multitudes of organisations which embrace social, political and religious life.

Archival collections contain unique and irreplaceable documents which form our recorded memory and tell the story of local communities; the role of the Archive Service is to locate, collect and preserve these collections and make them accessible to the public at the archive offices across Staffordshire.

The Friends host social events of interest to all archive users to raise funds for specific Archive Service projects (aimed at improving public access to collections) as well as aiming to raise awareness of the work of the Archive Service.
